The Jaguar Land Rover and the University of Cambridge created a touchscreen technology that does not require anyone to touch the screen while driving. Kind of like predictive texting, the predictive touch will be used to predict what you will do next on the screen.
The touchless touchscreen will use a gesture sensor to predict vision and movement, taking into account environmental conditions, context, and interface design.
The tests conducted by University of Cambridge found that the driver will not have to put so much time into looking at and using the screen. This will reduce accidents because the driver will look at the road 50% more when using the innovative touchless system.
This groundbreaking technological device can be later assimilated into grocery stores, ATMS, airports, kiosks. The device will also be extremely beneficial in maintaining a healthy environment, because of the no-touch model.
The touchless system will also make life more convenient and check-outs much faster at stores. It seems like the Jaguar will introduce the touchless touchscreen soon.
