CA says vans and trucks will be fully electric


According to NBC news, California states that auto industries will be required to make trucks and vans go fully electric by 2024.


California has announced that gas and diesel trucks and vans will be switched over to electric vehicles. The type of cars that will be electric will be medium vans and "big rigs" that transport commodities from businesses.


The California Air Resources Board is already pushing production companies to add electric and hydrogen trucks to their truck lines.


Nikola Motors, who is already making a large range of hydrogen trucks, and Rivian are going to make 100,000 electric delivery vans for Amazon.


California has high pollution levels, and California's Governor Gavin Newsom stated that switching vans and trucks to hydrogen and electric-powered cars will definitely reduce pollution and make California a safer place to live.


50% of medium sized trucks such as the Ford F-250 or Chevy Silverado H will be switched to electric and hydrogen cars by 2035.


The company EA, which was set up by Volkswagen will create 10,000 public charging stations in the United States, alongside its competitors Chargepoint and EVGo.


Tesla is also ramping up their truck line as they are planning to release the Cybertruck pickup truck and big Semi truck.
